Eichardt's Private Hotel, Queenstown

Everyone knows that Queenstown, New Zealand is picturesque but do you know that there is a small hotel there designed by Virginia Fisher (named by Time magazine as one of the top 5 interior designers in the world) with less than 10 guest suites?

When I first visited Queenstown in 2003, the hotel had only 5 suites but recently, they have added 4 cottage suites (which are cheaper). The hotel is tucked in the corner of the town centre and if you weren't observant enough, you just might dismiss it as another Victorian building. This hotel is gorgeous and opulent, yet not overly fancy and showy. How much for the privacy and luxury? Starting prices are at NZ$985 for a Lakefront Suite and it goes up to NZ$1645 for their Lakeview Suite.

A side view of the Hotel. The white Victorian facade is what you will see from the front.

The Foyer of the Hotel.
Every Suite has its own Drawing Room with a fireplace.

A snapshot of its bathroom.

One of their newly added Cottage Suite.

The study in the two bedroom suite, which functions as the 2nd bedroom as well.

The Palour where they serve Breakfast and Cocktails.

The House Bar which is opened to the public.
