The Gingerbread Men

When it was time for the Gingerbread Boy to be done she opened the oven door and pulled out the pan. Out jumped the little Gingerbread Boy on to the floor, and away he ran, out of the door and down the street! The little old woman and the little old man ran after him as fast as they could, but he just laughed, and shouted,--

"Run! run! as fast as you can!

"You can't catch me, I'm the Gingerbread Man!"
An Extract from "The Gingerbread Man"

I remembered the story as a little girl and to prevent any shortbread cookies (in the shape of gingerbread men) running away from us, we made sure we got the Fred cookie cutters to create gingerbread men with an arm, a leg or a head munched off. By the way, these were not any shortbread cookies, they were Monk Pear Tea shortbread cookies. Very buttery and scrumptious.
*Whispers* We won't deny that they may have been a couple of casualties as a result of them looking so irresistible. They were eaten on the pretense of taking a break from icing.

Loved spending the evening having red wine beef stew and baking with Denise. Always brightens my day to enjoy a girly day with her.

Coloured icing all ready to go in their piping bags and nibs.

Adding in the final details and check out the pretty one legged girl.
