Georg Jensen Damask.

I never knew that Georg Jensen had linens until not too recently. That made me very insistent that I should visit their shop (which was in the same building as me, so no excuses there). Georg Jensen Damask has a good collection of table cloths (runners, napkins and place mats included), bed linens, towels, bath robes, rugs and kitchen linens (tea towels and aprons). Their table cloths can be custom made, which is really good if you have an odd dining table like a huge square or a very long one. They have a design by Arne Jacobsen which is my favourite (partly because I am a huge fan). It's the design in the second picture.

It's a pity that I couldn't find much pictures of their linens online but do visit their website to see their entire collection.

Pony Rider.

Pony Rider was set up by two Australian ladies who loved old fashioned good linen. I love their beautiful prints which are feminine and old school. My favourite must be the fabulous cushion in the first image.

The Old Cinema.

The Old Cinema is a great website to find those vintage and one off pieces. I love their grain sack covered armchair and the vintage lamp. They would make fantastic accent pieces in any room. It's sure to get anyone's notice.

Colonial Soldier.

Personally, the hardest part of furnishing a house is finding the small curios. You'll never find them from day one but it's an ongoing effort taken to add new things to your collection. Colonial Soldier is a great resource for little bits of this and that for a boy's or gentleman's room. They sell old union jacks which are great for framing up to hang above beds, old soda stream bottles, antler lamps, a screen made up of matchboxes, and the list goes on. They even sell wooden toy soldiers. My favourite bits and pieces are the old bus stop sign and the radio.

Missoni Home.

I walked into a Missoni Home store today and I was bowled away by the colours, prints and expression. Absolutely gorgeous.

Stelton's Simply Espresso and SImply Milk Frother.

This must be the most beautiful and handy espresso machine ever designed. It's compact, making it easy to bring with you where ever you go. It is battery operated and the size of a thermos. All you need to do is to add water, one of their espresso packs, press a button and voila, freshly brewed coffee.

Check out the matching milk frother. They claim to create thick luscious froth even with low fat milk.

Biju.

Biju is an online home store. I do however like some of their bedding, so I thought I'd share some pictures with you. My favourite would be the first one. It's in linen, very simple in white with black trimmings.

Re-Found Objects.

I think that Re-Found Objects has a collection of great little objects inspired by the past. If you love vintage jelly moulds, french stripe material, pressed glass, etc, this might be one of the most interesting online shops you might come across.

étoile home.

étoile home was launched in 2006 by fashion and interiors photographer and stylist Shani Beadle. étoile was born from the rich colours, textiles and prints that inspired her during her travels around the world. Combining this inspiration with a passion for design, she wanted to create a line of homewares that are fun and eclectic. 

I love her cushions and the styling and photography of the room or table scape that she has put together. It has a certain warm and cosy quality in it. Her love for all things old and colourful are well represented in her range.  

Gaia & Gino.

One of the tag lines that Freedom Furniture in Australia used is "Think outside the box, you live in." That came into mind when I saw the creations of Gaia & Gino. They were founded in 2004 and their headquarters are in Istanbul, Turkey. They aim to create a line which combines contemporary design with a Turkish sensibility. Their corporate identity is defined by: dynamic, organic, emotional, multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural.

Are they successful in bringing a modern edge to turkish shapes and design? I say without a doubt, yes.
